Hi y'all! I'm Olivia Mah, founder of Cedar and Storm. Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I created this business when I came up with the idea for the Dry Cape™.
Ever since I was a little girl, I'd get out of the bath or shower with wet hair, which immediately soaked through my pajama top. I'd take a towel and drape it over my shoulders (like so many of us do!) and that worked for a little while... until I would be using my hands and my towel would slip off my shoulders. You might know the feeling! So annoying. I thought, "This needs to have a clasp," and the Dry Cape™ was born.
Fast forward many months later, and the store is officially open. Thank you to my wonderful family and friends who've been encouraging me!
The name Cedar and Storm comes from a few places. I knew I wanted a company name that was broad enough so I could perhaps one day expand and offer various types of products. I wanted it to refer to nature, because I love the outdoors. I landed on these two words because they have a nice alliteration, plus they have Biblical significance.
Cedar symbolizes many things in the Bible including strength and endurance, beauty and majesty, purity and cleansing, and pride and humility. Storms are mentioned several times as well, often during examples of God's power over nature and circumstances.
My hope for this store is that the products we sell will add to all the beauty in your life. I hope you enjoy!
